I don’t want to mislead anyone, so I feel like I should share some of the less glorious aspects of cruising. Here are 10 of the things that drive me crazy, in no particular order. (I’ll leave you with something positive at the end, though.)
- It’s always damp. This is exacerbated on humid and rainy days.
- My hair (which is long) gets everywhere and drives me crazy!
- As soon as the cockpit is cleaned, there will immediately be more dirty footprints.
- Making the bed is a pain.
- Even after I’ve washed the floor inside, it still feels dirty.
- My husband snores, which is bad enough at home, but in a small cabin (7.5′ x 8.5′) with the ceiling 2-feet above my head, it is amplified.
- Auto pilot seems to have an attraction to lobster buoys.
- If you want to get to something, it inevitably involves moving half of what is stored to get it. And if you have to put it back again…
- Our refrigerator freezes things (only in the back part).
- Somebody is always standing in the path where you need to go.
I’ll let these pictures show you why we think the above is all worth it…
